Worry Is Worthless.
10:00:00 amHi guys! It's been 2 minutes. Hehehe! How are you doing?? Well, I'm good. Had quite a busy week. I had/have a lot to share with y'all but when I think of sitting down to type a post, sleep sets in. I think I'll have to start typing and scheduling my posts ahead of time.
So, I realized that I don't get too personal on here but this time around, for the sake of this post and the message I intend to pass across, I would go ahead and let it all out.
I worry a lot. It's not something I do intentionally though, but I just find myself in that worry zone. Consequently, this worry turned into something else, fear of rejection. Rejection in the sense that what if what I'm doing or intend doing isn't good enough? What if I'm turned down? What if I myself am not good enough. Just what if...
I've faced rejection on so many occasions (work, relationships, friendships) in the past but recently, I've come to realize that rejection is only part of life and it eventually makes you stronger when you bounce back from it and do better than you did before. My dad tells me most times, " You worry too much." A close friend of mine says to me occasionally, " You overthink things a lot." Lol!
I agree, I worry a lot. But in recent times, I've truly found solace in the scriptures as I now have a better understanding of the Bible. I also feel that as we grow older, we tend to understand things better.
Let me share some of my favorite Bible passages that comfort me in times of worry, fear and anxiety;
- “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4
- “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34
- “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1
- “The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? The Lord is with me; he is my helper.” Psalm 118:6-7
- “Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.” Proverbs 29:25
- "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7
- "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7
- "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding." Proverbs 3:5.

DeleteNice post. You really should stop over thinking things. Rejection is normal cuz I also have experienced it. What matters is how you moved forward and learn from it.🙂
