My Experience At The GTBank Fashion Weekend
12:07:00 pmIs it just me or can anyone else smell Christmas in the air? LOL! I'm quite excited. Hey guys! How's it going? Hope you had a fantastic weekend just like myself. I had the opportunity to work with the crew of Ndani Lifestyle Blog to cover the GTBank Fashion Weekend which took place at the Landmark Event Centre, Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Day 1- I managed to get a quick picture before the close of day. That's my tired face. |
First of all, I've never been to a fashion show before.I really didn't know what to expect so I had a bit of mixed feelings a few days before the event. Nevertheless, I knew it was going to be a fun weekend. I had a bit of a challenge choosing my outfit for both days but I finally decided to be myself and go casual with a touch of chicness.
Day 2- I was at the craft village taking some notes for a post. |
The event was properly organised and I was really impressed as this was the maiden edition. Everything went according to the schedule and there was no case of African time. Just perfect.

I didn't get to witness the entire event because I was on the job, but I was present at all the masterclasses. My favorite speakers were Mrs Oke Maduewesi, CEO Zaron Cosmetics and Bijou Abiola, a professional fashion buyer.

I missed day 1 of the runway show but made it for the next day's presentation. The runway was simply wow! The lighting, sound effects, set design...everything was a 100. I also made it to the craft village which reminded me a lot of my fine art classes in junior secondary school. It was a sight to behold.

The only thing people really complained about was the air conditioning. But we were all given hand fans to help the situation. I guess the crowd was so much that the air conditioning wasn't able to circulate properly because it became cooler in the evening when a lot of people had left and early in the morning before the crowd started trooping in.

Overall, it was a great show and I'm sure the next edition would be much more better than this which would be excellent. Everyone left with a gift bag containing the Ndani Lifestyle Blog magazine, a customized raincoat(lol) and a brochure about the event. Although, the gift bags on the front row at the runway show had something extra in it but I wasn't able to catch a glimpse of what it was. I hope this improves next year.
If you attended the event, how was it for you? Please share your experience with me in the comments section.
Be right back,
xx, Evita.

Now I wish I'd attended this event, the buzz was all over social media.
I enjoyed reading this. :-)
Hi Nedu! I've been good. Awww...you missed o! It was worth all the hype and buzz. Probably make it for the next edition? Yes! Thanks for reading too.
DeleteWell i couldn't attend even if i would have loved to,but a friend of mine did and from the feedback i got it was amazing. I guess more of these shows could be done as an avenue to promote the fashion culture here in Lagos and Nigeria generally. Kudos to GT bank for the innovation too. Next year's own can only get better
ReplyDeleteHi Tunde. It was indeed amazing. And it was also a great avenue for upcoming brands to promote their products. A big thumbs up to GTBank. They did well on this one. I'm really looking forward to next year's edition.
DeleteAww this looks like it was tons of fun. Love how simple your outfits were, very comfortable for being on the go. I've heard great things about the GTBank fashion week, kudos to them. xx
