The Leather Skirt

10:26:00 am

Hey guys! Long time no style post. How's everything going? Hope your goals for the year have been achieved and things are falling into place? If not, don't give up. We have 16 days more till the year ends and ANYTHING can still happen. Christmas is almost here and honestly, the atmosphere isn't so festive at my end. I can relate with what's happening but then, I'm super grateful to witness the last month of the year despite all that's going on. We must eat that jollof/fried rice and chicken whether recession likes it or not.lol!

There's something about leather clothing that oozes chicness and boldness. Be it a pair of pants, jacket or a skirt, leather just gives you this vibe that makes you feel extra cool and fly. I didn't hesitate to jump at this Zara leather skirt when I saw it on sale for a little over a dollar (the wonders of thrifting!) It was love at first sight. Currently, it's the only piece of leather clothing I own and I'm still on the lookout for a jacket even though the weather here won't permit me to rock it as I would like.

I decided to pair my leather skirt with a turtleneck/polo top(I learned that its also called a polo from Kachee Tee) and this is one of the few pink items I have in my wardrobe. I wanted to achieve that chic look and I think I did so pretty well especially with the addition of the pink clutch and strappy heels.

The sun that shone on the day of this shoot was exceptional! Like chill sun! Thanks to my photographer, Ebere for making out time for me despite her busy schedule to take these photos. YOU ROCK! This is my first time styling this skirt and I have like a hundred other ideas on how to style it(well, not 100 literally!) But be sure its going to make a lot of appearances later on here.

So tell me, do you have any piece of leather clothing in your wardrobe? How have you styled them?(You can drop a link if you have any post about it) How would you style this skirt? And do you like how I styled it? You know I always appreciate your feedback.

And yes! I haven't forgotten about the book review for last month's read. In fact, I've read 2 books this month already (oya dab!) and that's why I delayed the review till now. So, expect it in my next post.

If you didn't read my last post you can do that hereI was having a bit of a crisis and that was the inspiration for that write up. Albeit confusing, it has a hidden message.

Thanks a lot my lovelies for sticking with me till now. I'm too grateful for all the love and support shown and I'll have a proper gratitude post to properly show my appreciation.

With all my love,
Evita. xx

  4. I honestly don't own many leather pieces. It's mostly because of the weather and the fact that it's quite hard to find affordable yet great quality leather peices. I like the simplicity of this look, that skirt is a steal, yes to thrifting always. I love your hair too.
